Pizzato "Sangue de Verdade" Egiodola

As referenced by its name (meaning ‘true blood’ in the Basque language), this is a bloody-coloured, rugged and full-bodied red wine from a grape variety originally found in southwest French.

This mature, Reserva quality example from the ever reliable Pizzato winery boasts earthy and slightly smoky flavours, underscored by dark berry fruit, oak and spice. Recommended as a food wine, so best enjoyed with barbecued/well seasoned red meats, chilli-based or spicy dishes, or fully-flavoured cheeses.
